TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION MANAGER for a 6-month project

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Technology Innovation Manager to join our team for a 6-month project.
The role will focus on driving forward existing research and development (R&D) projects in the fields of physics, sensors, optics, and simulations.
The successful candidate will manage ongoing projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, timelines, and business goals.
Additionally, the manager will be required to take charge of Proof of Concept (PoC) development for certain projects when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Taking Over and Leading Existing R&D Projects
• Assume leadership of ongoing R&D initiatives and projects focused on physics, sensors, optics, and simulation technologies.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of current projects, their status, and any existing challenges or risks.
• Collaborate with the internal teams and external collaborators to ensure smooth progress and implementation of the solutions and that timelines, budgets, and technical specifications are adhered to.

2. Project Management and Execution
• Drive project execution from current phase to successful completion, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.
• Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders, providing clear and concise reporting on the status of each project, including any potential delays, adjustments, or improvements.

3. Technology Feasibility and Prototyping
• Continue the evaluation and validation of existing technology prototypes related to sensors, optics, and simulations.
• Identify and resolve any issues with current projects and prototypes, conducting simulations and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
• In some cases, lead the design and development of PoCs to validate new technologies or concepts.
• Provide expert input on the further development of project, including refining existing systems and designing new solutions as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:
• A degree (PhD preferred) in Physics, Engineering, Optics, or related fields with a strong focus on applied technology and simulations.

Experience: 
• Proven experience (3+ years) managing or contributing to R&D projects in physics, sensors, optics, and simulations.
• Experience in taking over and driving forward existing technical projects to successful completion.
• Familiarity with simulation software such as Python, MATLAB, or similar platforms for modelling and analysis.
• A solid understanding of sensor technologies, optics systems, and their application in real-world settings.

Skills: 
• Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of managing and advancing ongoing technical projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly assess existing project statuses and make adjustments as necessary to ensure progress.
• Problem-solving skills and technical expertise to address challenges and optimize ongoing projects.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with the integration of optical systems with sensors or electronic hardware.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in the physics and optics domains.
• Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic project environment.
